Waste Removal

City of Ampled does not provide refuse collection. Residents must contract with a refuse collection company of their choosing. The refuse collection companies provided here are for the convenience of our residents. City of Ampled does not endorse and is not responsible for their service or availability.

City of Ampled offers numerous opportunities for youth to get involved in sports at different levels. The township neither funds the programs nor do we have authority over the organizations other than allowing them to use our fields for practices and/or games. In addition to the organizations we have listed below there are other individual travel teams that have formed over the years made up of City of Ampled residents.

FOOTBALL

Ampled Creek Park has a football field plus some additional space located behind Airport Highway and is used primarily little league football organizations for practices and games.

YOUTH BASEBALL/SOFTBALL (STYBS)

The softball/baseball diamonds are home to STYBS (City of Ampled Youth Baseball Softball). They are primarily a summer recreational league but do sponsor some community travel teams as the kids get older and begin playing against other community teams in leagues such as SGS (Suburban Girls Softball) and SAWS (for boys). We also allow youth travel teams made up primarily of Springfield kids to utilize the fields as their home field.

In addition to youth programs, Community Homecoming Park is a host field for the Wizards Fast Pitch Fall and Spring Ball Leagues and the home of annual events such as the Cody Brown Memorial Tournament, Rollie Run, and the Strawberry Festival.

SOCCER

The soccer fields at Community Homecoming Park are home to SSA (Springfield Soccer Association) recreational league, which has merged with the Springfield Futbol Club. They play every Fall and Spring with approximately 600 township kids participating each season.
